Custom Mouldings by Burton Millwork

At Burton Millwork, we specialize in creating custom mouldings that meet your specific needs. Whether you're restoring a heritage home or completing a renovation, custom mouldings are often the perfect solution when the original profiles are no longer available. Our craftsmanship and attention to detail ensure that we can match or enhance any existing moulding design, giving your space the perfect finishing touch.

Why Choose Custom Mouldings?

Many of our clients come to us because they can’t find the moulding profiles they need in stores or from manufacturers. When mouldings are no longer being made, replacing an entire house full of mouldings can be expensive and unnecessary. Instead, we can create just the few lengths you need, saving you time and money.

Our Custom Moulding Process

  1. Moulding Profile: The process begins when you bring in your existing moulding profile. Whether you have a piece of the original or a detailed drawing, we will use it as a reference.

  2. Custom Moulder Head: To recreate your custom moulding, we’ll take a sample of the profile and have a moulder head made specifically for your project.

  3. Shaping & Milling: Once the moulder head is ready, we use a shaper to mill your moulding out of the material of your choice. You can select from MDF or solid wood, depending on the style and functionality you desire.

  4. No Minimum Order: We understand that sometimes you only need a few pieces, which is why we have no minimum order requirement. You can order as little as one length of custom moulding—simply bring in your profile, and we'll take care of the rest.

Frequently Asked Question: "How Much?"

We get asked this a lot! Here's a breakdown of the costs involved in producing your custom moulding:

  • Moulder Head: $800–$1,200, depending on the complexity of the profile.

  • Machine Setup: $175.

  • Shop Time: $145 per hour.

  • Material Costs: Based on your selection of MDF or solid wood.

These upfront costs are typically much more affordable than replacing all the mouldings in your home, and they allow you to preserve the unique character of your space.
